Second place-- "Painting Steve!" Brush With the Wind

Happy to share that I was awarded second place at the Brush With the Wind juried show, hosted at Richesons in Kimberly, Wisconsin...my painting, 12"x 9" oil of fellow painter, IPAP member Steve Beaubien...

Following the event, a few of us took off for the town of Menasha to the Wild Apple Gallery to see the opening of fellow painter, Julie Jilek...with many fine works she has done at state parks throughout the state.  Quite a good crowd had come, and was quite exciting.  Congrads on that, Julie!!!

Chillin' across the street, painter Anthony Sell and founder of WIPAPA  (Wisconsin Plein Air Painter's Association) Wendie Thompson...sharing stories off the tailgate of my truck.  Always enjoy much seeing ole paintin' buddies...peers.

Hi Larry,

As a fellow Wisconsinite, I enjoy your treks in and across the state and love your paintings. Congrats on your second place award! I'm just getting started in oils (having been a watercolorists for a few years) and am hoping to do more plein air painting. Your blog and WetCanvas Live postings/classes have been an inspiration.

Jan sorry it's taken so long to respond.... I've just been weighed down with so much activity... you are very kind and encouraging... thank you so much for taking the time. All the best with your own work
