Fall NE Wisconsin Lakeshore... 10"x 20" oil on linen

working on another piece here while working thru the gestural pieces, this one spoken for...














I applied a brownish undertone with copal and turps on an oil primed linen taped to foam core board, which later I'll put to a stretcher frame.  Next image is me wiping out the composition...and the completed undertone follows...finally, this is the start I am left with today after listening to two NFL games, and now I'm heading home to get dinner ready and prepare to watch the Packers play the Vikes!

I'll add the subsequent sessions of this one as I paint 'em...as well as the gesturals...

Perhaps the power of an artist is the way he can easily transform complex pieces of nature into evidence of art.
