Closeup of Jason's face...gouache...

Worked a bit more this morning on Jason's face
refinement...and thought I'd share a larger image,
which you can click on to see better.  This area
is in actuality 3"x 3" square...and the method
applies line hatching and cross hatching of thin
strokes (a number "0" or "1" brush)...controlling
the amount of water in the paint to be either more
transparent and allow patient building and
rendering...or a bolder there it is and leave it
look.

thanks Jason...

you know, its almost intimidating painting your face! My own son! You've had so many fine artists portray an impression or caricature of your face, it naturally almost lines me up with that inclination to say...okay, so how does his ole man stack up?

but...I love painting, and its such a cool pose...

besides that...I take a shine to ya for a whole lotta reasons!!!! hahaaa...

love ya kiddo!
