Fall Upper Michigan McClure Basin Plein Air oil

Spent the night at our cabin last night, this
afternoon my brother-in-law joined me and we
went about closing up our cabin for the winter.
Of course, I had to bring my paint box, and
had time to paint a small plein air sitting
at our dock looking across the basin...

It was quite pretty..
the color was a bit subdued, turning more browns past the peak period, which I didn't mind because so much explosive color is really hard to control...

Woulda been fun paint'n with ya...

thanks Jason

Wow! What a beautiful place, we just got back from our summer in the mountains in NM. It is something like this, too. Thanks.
