An outdoor painter by preference- (setting up on location to paint from life), the works of this blog will be frequent exercises painted from whatever strikes my fancy with intent to sharpen my eye, push and stretch my understanding of paint. Note that my links will include my larger artist's site, and latest available giclee prints at Image Kind. Feel free to inquire to the availability of any works seen here.

What a wonderful composition! Beautiful brush strokes.
Thanks Virginia! Appreciated.
They say the apple does not fall far from the tree, and I have spent the better part of this year studying Emile A. Gruppe's work and teachings, as well as Edgar Payne. Studying their work, their thoughts, advice, and experimenting.
After 30 years of painting it is fun to attempt to reinvent oneself and find some exciting things yet to learn. I'm glad you liked this one in particular! Thanks again.

larry.. I like the colour and somple rise of the rock mass in this painting. This landscape reminds me the Canadian Shield a bit.
thanks Michael....
I am sorry for not seeing this comment earlier...
I am flattered whenever my work reminds folks of Canadian places, artists and so forth.
