Nice painting Larry, it has some great depth and awesome light including the colors in the shadows.
Try a maple frame, maple's not to expensive and you can get it in the soft rather than hard and if you have a planner you can buy the 6/4 rough cut that's cheaper. How did you cut your waste, table saw or router.
I'm making some 24 x 24 for some Seascapes and they'll be made out of 6/4 popular.
How did you finish the wood. I used sandpaper, and then paste wax and buffed it.
