More Red Undertone Study...

Today I've been working on a teaching aide to show
painting students perhaps one way that Emile Gruppe
advised his students to paint and control the greens
of nature by painting first a red undertone.

I don't know if he would have painted one overall red
value, so I took license to paint the underpainting
using a dark, mid and light red as you can see here
in the first image. Then I began to build up the greens
and other colors I observed. Interestingly it weaves a
very nice harmony of color and glow.

I'll post the finished demo when hopefully it gets
completed sometime today. The size of this study
is 7"x 5" in oil...
