This is another of my ongoing experiments
counting and thus limiting my brushstrokes
to only what is necessary to suggest the
subject. It is an effort of pure economy,
control, mastery of the brush, intentional
direct understanding of color, values before
applying to the panel. An aim of alla prima
direct painting...a brushstroke laid, is a
brushstroke stayed.
Applied was 171 brushstrokes of color.
