I've also seen some working with Raw Sienna, Umber, black and white to some great results.<BR/><BR/>Today...an artist mentioned that Zorn's palette including black had more blue in the black pigment in his day than today. I haven't tried it yet, but thought it produced an interesting earth tone result.
